Indeterminate Position
Purpose of the Position: The Tenant Relations Officer is responsible for providing programs and services to tenants in public and market housing units. Reporting directly to the LHO Manager, the Tenant Relations Officer ensures that all tenants are adequately accommodated within the guidelines of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation (NWTHC).
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Training:
• post-secondary education in Social Services or Business Administration, or equivalent
• three years relevant experience
• valid Class 5 (non-probationary) driver’s licence
**Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check is required**
Duties and responsibilities, but not limited to: process housing applications and administer tenant files; maintain effective communication with tenants; manage tenant rent collections; counsel tenants on their rights and responsibilities; receive and investigate tenant complaints and apply appropriate policy; prepare monthly reports for Manager and Board of Directors; maintain effective communications with FSiHA Manager, NWTHC District/Head Quarter staff and Rental Officer, and apply appropriate process and policy decisions; work with maintenance staff on tenant check-in/outs, damage assessments, and apply costing; administer and manage tenant Rental Officer files including filing applications, preparing, and attending hearings on behalf of FSiHA.
The salary for this position starts at $35.42 per hour (approximately $69,069.00 per annum), plus annual Northern Allowance, pension, and extended health benefits.
