Description
The Dene National Office is seeking a mature and responsible individual to fill the following position of:
Jordan’s Principle Coordinator
The successful applicant will report directly to the Director, Health and Social Secretariat. The Jordan’s Principle Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate services for children and families within the Denendeh Regions who require services in accordance with the Jordan’s Principle. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Dene children, their families and external services to ensure Dene children are funded for appropriate services in a way that is reflective of their distinct cultural needs and that meets the children’s complex needs.
Knowledge Requirements
• Knowledge of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordan’s Principle
• Knowledge of Indigenous communities and structures, community services available to children and their families
Qualifications
• Minimum requirement of a college diploma in Human Services
Experience
• Coordinating and/or managing social programs and services
• Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations and communities, Denendeh children and families
Other requirements
• Class V NWT Driver’s Licience
• Clear Criminal Records Check
