is recruiting a
DIRECTOR OF HEALTHY LIVING
The hamlet has secured new funding to allow us to hire a strong experienced leader and administrator for our Department of Healthy Living, which encompasses our recreation and wellness programs.
This position is a term position, to March 31, 2025, with possibility of renewal.
Under the direction of the CAO and receiving guidance from a committee of council, duties include:
• Supervising and mentoring up to 5 full time and 15 part time staff
• Overseeing budgeting and reporting on up to $2M in program funding
• Providing strategic leadership to the department to advance community priorities in wellness, mental health, food security and sport and recreation.
• Ensuring that programming that is offered by the department meets relevant health and safety standards.
The annual salary of this non-union term position is $100,000 per year, plus Nunavut Northern Allowance of $26,345 and hamlet benefits, including relocation and subsidized staff housing, as required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant management experience in Nunavut (supervising staff and managing budgets over $1M), and post-secondary education in management or health or recreation. Preference will be given to Nunavut Inuit.
