Full-Time Building Maintainer
Job Description
Sakku Properties Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sakku Investments Corporation, has an opening for a Building Maintainer. We are seeking a Journeyman Housing Maintenance Serviceman who will mentor/ supervise a first year HMS Apprentice. The successful applicant will be client/service oriented and will be responsible for addressing tenant requirements; performing maintenance and repairs; conducting condition ratings and adhering to National Building Code requirements.
Requirements:
• Journeyman Certification in HMS along with 3 or more years working experience
• Experience working with a computerized management system (MMOS) or similar preferred
• Strong working knowledge of the National Building Code and National Fire Code
• Good time management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines
• Ability to speak Inuktitut and work in a cross-cultural environment are definite assets
• Valid class 5 driver’s license is a prerequisite and proficiency in operating a material handler preferred
• Starting salary is $72,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a northern allowance of $8,000, a housing allowance of $16,000 (based on eligibility), and a benefits package that includes an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance
