Chief Financial Officer
The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) is an Indigenous organization that represents Gwich’in Participants from the Mackenzie-Delta region of the Northwest Territories. Its vision is to be a culturally vibrant and independent Nation that is environmentally responsible and socially and economically self-reliant.
Based in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, an opportunity exists for a new Chief Financial Officer to join the Senior Leadership team. Reporting to the Grand Chief and Board of Directors, the CFO will direct and lead all aspects of financial operations and resources for the GTC, Gwich’in Development Corporation, and affiliates; develop and implement the strategic plan in conjunction with the Executive Team; lead the finance, IT, human resources, corporate services and Gwich’in services teams; and provide financial advice and reporting for senior management and the Board.
The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years experience, has a degree in Business Administration or similar, is a CPA, and is a capacity-building leader with excellent managerial and communication skills. Unwavering integrity and ethics is essential for this mandate.
