COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager of Communications, Engagement and Partnerships, the Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for providing information and education services to communities and community members on the importance and impact of the environmental assessment process. The position is also participating in and assisting with logistical support for environmental assessment meetings and forums in communities; participating in the development of plain language publications, information materials and policies; conducting community-based research; facilitating the incorporation of traditional knowledge into the EIA process and decision making; providing training to interpreters on the EIA process.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: You should have education in Business Administration, Communication, and/or 2 to 4 years of direct experience in northern community relations, project management, project coordinator, Indigenous relations, and/or marketing. Experience in the environmental assessment field would be considered an asset. Preferences will be given to Northern Indigenous applicants.
