Full-Time Controller
Job Description
Sakku Investments has an opening for a Controller. Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for providing organizational leadership in key financial and business planning, to assist Sakku’s management in the effective administration of the corporation and its subsidiary companies. The position also provides critical analysis for evaluations on the viability and financial requirements, including financing options, for any of Sakku’s business initiatives.
Requirements:
• professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is a strong prerequisite, alternatively the candidate must be, or is willing to be, working towards this certification
• five years or more of proven supervisory experience, with a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles & auditing standards
• proficient in working within a cross cultural environment and demonstrate a clear understanding of Designated Inuit Organizations under the Nunavut Agreement
• a functional level of communication to others within the work setting, along with a strong fluency in written & oral Inuktitut, is a definite asset in this position
• starting salary is $115,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a northern allowance of $8,000, a housing allowance of $16,000 (based on eligibility), and a benefits package that includes an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance
