Full-Time Executive Director
YWCA NWT – Yellowknife, NT
For more than 50 years, YWCA NWT has worked with women and families to help them move from crisis to stability in a supportive, caring environment.
The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors to develop and implement programs that achieve the outcomes set by the Board, to have a human resources system that allows for a competent staff, to plan with and direct the work of front-line departments and contractors in the execution of programs, to develop and maintain community participation and support, to provide support to the volunteer leadership, and to secure adequate resources to support an array of programs and assets.
The ideal candidate is a passionate leader who lives and models the values of the YWCA NWT. The candidate should have a passion for women’s rights and a strong commitment to the YWCA movement. The ideal candidate should have a knowledge of Indigenous issues and have a practical understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action. The ideal candidate should have experience working with a budget of $1M or greater, have human resource experience and have demonstrated knowledge of working with a board.
- five or more years of recent senior management experience
- management and/or board experience in a not-for-profit organization or charity is an asset
- university degree in a related field is preferred; however, a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- professional designation would be an asset
The salary range is $106,000 to $126,000. The YWCA offers a benefit package and opportunities for additional YWCA training. The position begins June 1, 2020; however, the start date is negotiable.
