Full-Time EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Job Description
Fort Norman Métis Community
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Fort Norman Métis Community (the “Community”) is made up of approximately 360 individuals who have enrolled as ‘participants’ under the Sahtu Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement (the “Agreement”) and who have chosen to be members of the Community pursuant to Chapter 4 of the Agreement.
These members live in various locations throughout Canada.
The Community itself is not a corporate entity but operates three primary corporate entities. These entities are:
Fort Norman Métis Land Corporation;
Fort Norman Métis Financial Corporation; and
Fort Norman Métis Development Corporation.
The primary purpose of the Community is to deliver services and benefits to the members. Because of legal restrictions arising from the Agreement, the bylaws of the Corporations and the law, generally, the delivery of these services and benefits has to be done through specific corporations and in specific ways.
The Community requires a full-time Executive Director to manage the three Corporations and related activities. All applicants should have formal training in management such as a B. Comm or similar education. All applicants should have experience in managing a combination of political, social and business organizations. Familiarity with the Agreement will be an asset.
The work place is located in Tulita, Northwest Territories.
The salary and other benefits are competitive and negotiable.
How to Apply
Applications will be accepted electronically until a successful applicant is found.
