The Hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk is seeking an individual to fulfill the full-time position of
FINANCE CLERK
The Finance Clerk will report directly to the Finance Comptroller.
The Finance Clerk will be responsible for processing daily water meter tickets and maintain customer records, invoice customers monthly for water/sewage/garbage/tipping permit services, process and issue receipts for
customer payments, maintain customer accounts receivable ledgers, maintain a journal for general cash/cheque payments, send out first, second and third notices for overdue customer accounts, greeting and assisting the general public.
The Finance Clerk will assist the Finance Comptroller through filing, coding of accounts receivable and payables, payroll and other duties as requested by the Finance Comptroller.
Desirable training and experience would be Grade 12, completion of Basic Office Procedures or Secretary course, must have computer training certificate, course in basic accounting or bookkeeping would be an asset, two years’ previous office experience, experience with cash handling, good telephone etiquette and must complete and pass
a criminal reference check. This position will require you to attend training courses offered by the School of Community Government to obtain your certification in Accounting 1 & 2.
Salary: Salary will be based on education and experience.
