HOUSING MAINTAINER
Full time position

The Hay River Housing Authority is currently accepting applications for the full time, indeterminate position of Housing Maintainer.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Hay River Housing Authority Maintenance Foreman.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining public housing units, residences and buildings on behalf of the Local Housing Authority. This includes, but is not limited to; maintaining housing units, performing carpentry and other related services as well as performing daily administrative duties.

Education and experience will be assessed to include:
• Carpentry and building maintenance skills
• Mechanical skills
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Effective listening and verbal communications skills
• Client service and public interaction skills
• Time management skills
• The ability to work under limited supervision
• Grade 12 education preferred

The Housing Maintainer would normally attain the required knowledge, skills and attitudes through completion of a related Journeyman Program combined with related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.

A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.

The successful applicant will be required to submit a clear Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
