Housing Serviceman
Plumber/Gasfitter
The Hay River Housing Authority is responsible for the delivery of social housing in the community of Hay River. The Housing Serviceman/Plumber/Gasfitter performs preventative maintenance checks; Service and repair the plumbing and heating systems in all LHO operated assets.
The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to inspect plumbing and hot water systems and equipment
- Ability to complete repairs and installation, in accordance to the Plumbing and Heating Codes
- Ability to supervise and train apprentices and casual staff
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability and willingness to keep up-to-date with technology
Your education background will include Journeyman Plumber/Class “A” Gas Fitter Certificate. You must be able to register with the NWT Boiler Inspector for the gas portion of the ticket.
Knowledge of Computer based systems (Webworks) is an asset.
Salary – this is a unionized position with a generous benefit package.
A satisfactory criminal record check and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License will be required.
