INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

The Information Systems and Technology Specialist is a critical member of the administration team that helps the rest of the organization achieve its mandate of protecting the land and water based resources within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region for generations to come.
The position is responsible for both strategic and operational aspects of Information Systems and Information Technology, leveraging the existing Apple infrastructure. The successful individual will identify future needs, help chart a path forward for digitization of traditional knowledge and look at both maintenance and replacement of current assets.
The successful candidate will have formal IS/IT accreditation and at least three years of prior IS/IT working experience, with one of those years working in an Apple environment. The Joint Secretariat is open to candidates that have a relevant combination of knowledge and experience in lieu of formal education.
Preference is given to candidates with knowledge of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, prior living and/or working experience in Northern Canada and a proven ability to work independently and without close supervision in a co-operative environment.
