INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
located in Yellowknife, NT
The Aboriginal Sports Circle of the Northwest Territories (ASCNWT) is looking to recruit, train and mentor an intern as a new sport program staff member with ASCNWT.
The position is a 2-year contract position from September 2020 and will finish September 2022.
The intern is responsible for the 2020 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) management (it was postponed to 2021 due to COVID), Indigenous coach development, and ASCNWT program assistance. The internship will be used as a support position to help deliver Team NT for NAIG, partnering with Territorial Sport Organizations (TSO’s) to identify potential coaches and to establish coaching development strategies as well as to assist with ASCNWT’s community development and event management.
The successful candidate will have experience and education in sport and recreation studies, business, event management, Indigenous studies or any other related field.
Training or experience with Adobe, Photoshop and website management is considered an asset.
