Priority will be given to Nunavut Inuit.

The Office of the Languages Commissioner (OLC) safeguards the rights, status and privileges of Nunavut’s official languages specified under the new Official Languages Act and the Inuit Language Protection Act. The Investigation/Research Officer-Inuktut (IRO) is the primary point of contact for Inuktitut language speakers for the Office of the Languages Commissioner. The IRO is the primary source of information for the Languages Commissioners on the activities, events and concerns of the Inuktitut language speakers. Communications, research and investigation activities for this position are time sensitive. The position will work with the private and public bodies to safeguard the language rights of Nunavummiut.

Salary Scale: $97,372 to $110,510 IQALUIT, NU

Please note that all Iqaluit-based positions are eligible for a Nunavut Northern Allowance of $16,008 per annum.
