Electoral Boundaries Commission
The Legislative Assembly of Nunavut invites applications for two (2) positions to serve on the Nunavut Electoral Boundaries Commission (EBC).
The Nunavut Elections Act provides for the establishment of an Electoral Boundaries Commission to propose to the Legislative Assembly the boundaries and names of the constituencies in Nunavut. The Commission will be established in the fall of 2022. The members of the Electoral Boundaries Commission will be appointed by the Commissioner of Nunavut on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly.
The Commission will consist of three members and be presided over by a judge or retired judge of the Nunavut Court of Justice or the Court of Appeal. The other two members must be eligible Nunavut voters.
In order to be considered for appointment, interested persons must demonstrate an understanding of electoral law and administration and be able to analyze complex written information.
Members of the Electoral Boundaries Commission will be required to travel. Members of the Commission will be compensated in accordance with Government of Nunavut honoraria and per diem rates.
