The Gwich’in Tribal Council has an opening for an energetic innovation-focused professional Manager of Human Resources to manage the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources office including the recruitment and selection process as well as policy interpretation, legislative compliance, performance management, discipline, and conflict resolution support to the Managers/Supervisors. The incumbent will also administer the Payroll and the Human Resource Management Information System.
A University Baccalaureate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Psychology or an equivalent degree is required. Designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resource Management (CPHR) or working on that designation is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have a payroll certification or be willing to acquire a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation. A minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in Human Resource positions and experience administering a payroll is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in the non-profit sector or in an Aboriginal Government/Organization, preferably in a northern context.
