NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Project: Underground Mining at the A21 Kimberlite Pipe
Location: Diavik Diamond Mine, Lac de Gras, NT
Purpose: Diavik Diamond Mines (2012) Inc. (DDMI) has proposed to amend its Type A Water Licence (W2015L2-0001) to allow for underground mining of the A21 Kimberlite Pipe.

To fulfill paragraph 41(2)(b) of the Waters Act, a public hearing is currently scheduled to be held by the Board on May 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Chateau Nova, Yellowknife, NT in accordance with the Board’s Rules of Procedure. As a result of the current Covid-19 situation, the Board will be considering alternatives for how to host this public hearing. Updated information will be provided closer to the date.
Written interventions for this public hearing must be submitted to the Board at the address below by 5:00 p.m., April 17, 2020.

If no notice is received of persons indicating their intention to appear and make presentations concerning this application, and the Applicant consents in writing to the disposition of the matter without a public hearing, the Board may cancel the hearing as per subsection 41(3) of the Waters Act.
