Demolition of Quonset
Introduction
The Town of Inuvik (hereinafter referred to as “the Town”) is seeking quotes from qualified contractors for the demolition of a Quonset located just east of the Midnight Sun Complex. This notice to bidders outlines the scope of work, submission guidelines, and evaluation criteria for the demolition project.
Project Background
The Quonset, located at 95 Gwich’in Rd, Inuvik [68.357774, -133.712936], just east of the Midnight Sun Complex, has been identified for demolition as part of the Town’s redevelopment plan. The structure is approximately 38m x 19m x 8m, consisting of a metal framework wrapped in a polyethylene fabric cover. This project requires the demolition/dismantling of the Quonset structure and the proper disposal of all materials.
Electronic Submissions entitled “Demolition of Quonset” and addressed to the Town of Inuvik shall be received via email at (tenders@inuvik.ca before 4:00 p.m. local time on April 29, 2024.
The work generally comprises:
• Obtaining all necessary permits and approvals for demolition.
• Disconnecting and properly capping all utilities serving the Quonset.
• Safely demolish the structure, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding environment and community.
• Remove all debris from the site and dispose of it in accordance with local, provincial/territorial, and federal regulations.
• Backfilling and grading the site post-demolition to ensure a level and safe condition.
Copies of the digital Bid Documents will be made available on or after April 18, 2024, and can be obtained by emailing (infrastructure@inuvik.ca)
The bid should be accompanied by:
• Business License
• Liability Insurance
• WSCC Compliance

In its absolute discretion, the Owner reserves the right to accept the Tender deemed most advantageous to the Owner. Notwithstanding any custom or usage in the construction industry, the lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted.
