Notice to Commercial Fishers
Applications for 2021/2022 winter ice fishing vehicle certificates (renewals and new applications) must be submitted by November 15, 2021
Applicants must provide the following information on their application form:
• Vehicle make/model, the registration or serial number and the size of the vehicle
• Name of the owner and operator of the vehicle
• Proof of residency, if applicable
This new deadline is to ensure Great Slave Lake vehicle certificates are equitably distributed prior to the commencement of the fishing season. Applications received after this date may have delayed processing times and may have lower likelihood of approval.
Any person working from a vehicle engaged in commercial fishing on Great Slave Lake must be the holder of a commercial fishing license or a helper’s license.
