Notice to Great Slave Lake Commercial Fishers

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is now accepting applications for the 2023/2024
winter ice fishing vehicle certificates (renewals and new applications).

For vehicle applications, the applicants will need to provide:
• Vehicle make/model, the registration or serial number and the size of the vehicle
• Name of the operator

Individuals that have not previously registered their vehicle must provide photos of their vehicle and fishing gear with their application.

Note that the national license services standard for processing license applications is up to 30 business days.

Any person working from a vehicle engaged in commercial fishing on Great Slave Lake must be a holder of a commercial fishing license or a helper’s license.
