Job Description


The Program Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the public housing subsidy program in Yellowknife. Through timely and effective monitoring of all tenant accounts and lease agreements, the Program Officer ensures that tenants pay their rent on time, adhere to the lease and program criteria, and comply with the NWT Residential Tenancies Act.

These duties emphasize task coordination with other employees, tenant accounts administration and collection, preparation and representation at rental hearings, unit inspections, responses to complaints, tenant records management, reception support as necessary during peak periods of operation and absence of staff.

Strong financial, computer, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential. Property management experience is an asset.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $82,000 to $94,000 plus an attractive pension and comprehensive benefits package.
