Northwestel is decommissioning the last payphone in Nahanni Butte, located at The Nahanni Butte General Store & Hotel, effective December 29, 2025.

After decommissioning, the nearest payphone will be located at 248 Valley Main Street, Fort Liard.

When the winter road is not in operation, payphone service will not be accessible by road from Nahanni Butte. When the winter road is open, drive south down Highway 7 (Liard Highway) for 92.7KM, turn right on Valley Main Street and continue for 6.2KM.
