Job Description
Town of Hay River is looking for a qualified person to fill the position of
Water Treatment Plant Operator
on a one year term basis, with the possibility of an extension. Duties & Responsibilities of the Water Treatment Plant Operator include, but are not limited to:
• Operating and maintaining the Class 2 water treatment plant, water distribution system, wastewater collection system and lagoon system;
• Ensuring Town of Hay River Water Treatment Plant operations meet or exceed regulatory and legally required guidelines for water quality and wastewater treatment;
• Keeping current all daily, weekly, monthly and annual checklists and testing records and all records of inspections and testing for the Water Treatment and Wastewater Systems;
• Performing repairs and maintenance on all related water/wastewater equipment and infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications:
This position requires a Class 2 Water Treatment Certificate or Class 1 Water Treatment Certificate with experience working in a Class 2 plant for a minimum of two years. Have excellent mechanical knowledge & experience with pipe repairs, distribution systems and physical plant systems/assets.
Compensation:
The Town of Hay River offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package including $500 per month Northern Living Allowance. Salary range is from Group 7, Step 1: $33.32 through Step 7: $43.97
