YOUTH PROJECT OFFICER INTERN
Applications are invited from highly motivated Gwich’in Participants, up to 30 years of age, for a one-year term Project Officer Intern with the GTC’s Departments of Health and Wellness, Finance, and Culture & Heritage on a rotational basis. Funded under the First Nations and Youth Employment Program, the intern will be located in Inuvik and required to spend some supported time in Fort MacPherson while working for the Department of Culture & Heritage. Reporting to the mentors assigned, the Intern will be responsible for gathering and analyzing information, carrying out specific tasks as well as planning, executing, and closing projects that are assigned.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a social science, business administration or related discipline, a valid Class 5 Driver’s licence, and be required to do a Criminal Records check.
Attributes for this position include the abilities to research, analyze, and evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations, communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written contexts; produce clear, concise, logical, and grammatically correct written material in plain language, to make an effective presentation before an audience and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
