Proposed Rule to Amend the Rules for Screenings Conducted by the Executive Committee
(Pre-Submission Engagement)
Pursuant to subsection 34(1) of the Yukon Environmental & Socio-economic Assessment Act, notice is hereby given that the Yukon Environmental & Socio-economic Assessment Board (the Board) is proposing amendments to the rules applicable to the conduct of screenings by the Executive Committee.
The main purpose of the proposed amendments is to establish a process of pre-submission engagement. The amendments also enable the executive committee to provide an additional comment period at any time during its screening of a proposed project.
The Board invites written representations from the public on the proposed amendments. The Board will accept written representations received on or before September 1, 2021. All representations should be submitted to the Board via email to yesab@yesab.ca or by fax to (867) 668-6425. Representations may also be mailed or delivered to the Board Head Office at Suite 200-309 Strickland Street, Whitehorse Yukon, Y1A 2J9.
The Board will not be acknowledging receipt of representations, but before finalizing the proposed amendments it will give full and fair consideration to each written representation it receives on or before September 1, 2021.
